Why I’m Running for the House of Delegates

Three months ago, my wife and I started a new struggle when we decided I would run for House of Delegates 2nd District as a Republican. This struggle means fighting for the residents of the 2nd District. People in Stafford and Prince William deserve someone who is committed to being their champion and who will not compromise their values or integrity to fit the mold of political correctness. I want to fight for the issues that matter most for our residents and return pragmatic and future-focused leadership to the General Assembly.

Laquan Austion has officially earned the Republican nomination in the race for the open Second District House of Delegates seat.


Austion announced the news on March 31, as he works to fill the Prince William and Stafford seat vacated by GOP Del. Mark Dudenhefer. The two-term delegate revealed that he wouldn’t run for re-election back in January.


“I made a promise to not be out-worked, and that promise led the party in coalescing around our campaign,” Austion said in a statement. “I'm looking forward to expanding our message and discussing the issues that impact our region."

Austion Secures Republican Nomination

Stafford, Virginia- Laquan Austion, candidate for House of Delegates District 2 is proud to be the Republican nominee.


Since the announcement of the campaign, Laquan has worked hard to secure the nomination. Meeting with party leaders and activists, and developing a strong campaign team. Unifying the Republican party around Laquan's candidacy is a strong show of support for his common sense message.

Austion voices opposition to VRE fare increase


Stafford, Virginia- On Thursday, Laquan Austion, Republican candidate for Virginia House of Delegates in District 2, sent a letter to the Virginia Railway Express opposing the latest fare increase.


The Virginia Railway Express previously raised fares by 4% in 2015 and 2013, in addition to a 3% hike in 2012. The newest proposed fare increase of 3% will cover increased operation costs and will take effect this summer, pending approval.

This week was an exciting one for the future of Virginia.  Laquan attended a campaign event for State Senator Bryce Reeves, who is running for Lieutenant Governor.  The well-attended event shows that Virginia is poised for a new direction, and Laquan was grateful to meet so many Virginians.
